On December 31st, were you holding your breath, counting the minutes, impatiently waiting for the calendar to flip? Were you anxiously hoping that new number, 2021, would magically get everything to change? Were you expecting a superhero, January 1st, to swoop in and save you (and everyone else) from more horrible 2020-ness?
Even though you logically knew that a (virtual) ball dropping wasn’t going to change things overnight, there might’ve been just a teensy part of you hoping this Fresh New Year would be your knight in shining armor.
Your desire for something, anything, to usher you out of the Year From Hell may have far surpassed logic.
Whether you were hoping for a different political administration promising to fix an unrestful society, a mass vaccination to stop the pandemic, or environmental recognition to salvage this warming planet, an overwhelming longing for rescuing may have been in your driver's seat.
Since you are currently the inhabitant of a physical body with a cellular-level, fear-based concern – survival -- yearning to be rescued goes to your core. Then, early traumatic experiences of being saved (or not saved) form subconscious programming about your power (or lack thereof).
Those events trigger your primitive, fear-based consciousness to convince you to stay disempowered, so as to guarantee continued rescuing.
And, even yuckier, this notion influences all areas of your life.
Right now, this scenario is being played out on a planetary level. Your subconscious need to be rescued has taken the wheel; your faith is in whatever looks like it will save you.
The Victim-Savior Dance
The rescuer needs to rescue just as much as the rescued needs to be saved. Why? Neither one believes they deserve real support, so they perform a co-enabling, needy, fear-based dance, mutually maintaining their stuck, disempowered roles perfectly in rhythm.
To your fear-based consciousness, this dance looks like love. In fact, many partnerships are based on it, which makes transforming them into real support challenging to say the least. (I can help with that)
Truth is, you subconsciously choose or attract rescuing in the exact ways you believe you need to be saved from yourself.
For example, if you’ve done things you define as hurtful with money, you may find someone who has the reciprocal need to financially rescue people. But the joke is, you won’t feel deserving of being saved, so won’t accept their help, or sabotage it in some way.
These “saviors” are your best teachers...they expose your core fears and neediness. Your job is to discover your whys – why did you lose your power, why do you need to be and stay a victim. (I can help with that)
The Good News is, resolving your need to be saved can allow you to reclaim your True Power and know what real support is. Ending this mutually needy dance, both personally and planetarily, will help you remember who you truly are, which is your ultimate Higher Consciousness goal.
Keep in mind, your incredibly wise Higher Consciousness does whatever it takes to wake you up. Including this ongoing 2020 nightmare. Your alarm is beep beep beeping.
