Dear 2020,

So, skidding through your final challenging days, I made it to 2021! There were times it seemed impossible, but with grit, trust and a bit of Capricorn stubbornness, here I am!

I’m writing you these words to never forget what an important year you were. All the lessons you shoved in so many faces, the challenges you provided. It was pretty tricky viewing those Big Life Lessons from a Higher Consciousness perspective, even knowing they’d repeat until they were mastered. I stuck with it since I sure didn't want any more “do-overs!"

I really, REALLY hope enough people are now living from those lessons so the consciousness of the world can finally shift. Don’t cha think it’s about time?

In case anyone else needed to know the 2020 Perfect Lessons you presented, I decided to write a summary they can refer to. Here they are:

Connecting. On the surface, it appeared to be the opposite, but that brilliant pandemic actually provided deeper, more authentic connections. Maybe it was because we wanted what we couldn’t have, or maybe we were finally appreciating what we used to have. Zoom calls helped as best they could.

We’re the same. We have such a hard time just getting along because we refuse to see that we’re all the same, just manifesting in unique ways. Under the acts we present to the world, we humans have the same needs, the same fears and the same Higher Purpose – giving and receiving unconditional love. Even masks can’t hide our sameness.

Buttons and mirrors. If triggered into anger or judgement, like during this year of political turmoil, we need to look inward to see what they’re reflecting. Buttons accurately show our blind spots, those denied, suppressed aspects we’re hiding. People and situations are attracted to us simply to push those buttons so we can learn Higher Consciousness lessons. Like coming from love all the time.

We deserve. We have core (subconscious) beliefs about not deserving -- love, power, joy, wealth, etc. So, when anything positive shows up, we try to sabotage or destroy it and don't even realize it. Knowing our value by locating root sources when we bought those false notions can allow deservingness to flourish and our desires to be graciously accepted. Even in 2020.

Rescue ourselves. Often, when we feel a strong need to save others in some way, it’s something we’re actually trying to rescue within ourselves. Once we handle our personal neediness issue, the assistance we give others will feel pure and loving, not from desperately trying to save ourselves by saving them.

Be here now. Rather than being present and mindfully aware, 2020 had us constantly fantasizing about the future (I can’t wait for this year to be over!) or dwelling in the past (ah the good old days before Covid!). Maybe, by experiencing so many losses, we learned the importance of appreciating each moment of this gift called life.

Go with the flow. We may've tried to force things to happen, but the pandemic taught us that things will happen precisely when they’re supposed to. We need to just keep moving on our path and allow things to unfold in Perfect Timing without expectations about how they have to look. Especially in 2020.

Dream courageously. Even though some of our dreams didn't manifest this year, it’s even more important to have big, fearless, even ridiculous dreams. Keep clarifying our intentions and follow the compass that shows up. We are the creators of our life, and it’s not a paint by numbers painting.

Be grateful. Gratitude is a powerful tool to help keep us in the moment and remind us of what we truly have. This muscle was awakened and exercised a lot in 2020, even if we were forcing ourselves to fake it.

Delve inside. This year gave us time to self-reflect and may have uncovered hidden, false programing running us, subconscious fears holding us hostage and long-denied emotions surfacing. (I can help with that) By exploring, not resisting, we opened gates to our intuition, empathy and true caring to open.

Be real. There’s nothing more powerful than fearlessly expressing who we truly are. As 2020 repeatedly kicked us to the ground, it was just about impossible to not be authentic!

So, dear 2020, we sincerely thank you for those Big-Ass Lessons! I guess only time will tell if enough of us passed Life Courses 101 so we can be the next level that will assist in changing the world. Look out, come a bunch of Hundredth Monkeys!
