Have you noticed that the number of self-help books encouraging you to be here now, filled with philosophical prods urging you to just live for today, could fill a stadium?
Oh, the pressure! Especially challenging during this time trying hard to not fantasize about a post-pandemic future, or languish in how life used to be.
Seems like being present should come naturally to us humans, right? Shouldn’t be a big deal to simply experience what you experience while you’re experiencing it. But with all your subconscious doo-dah in the way, it’s no piece-a-cake. Or even a cakewalk, for that matter.
Being here now is a fine goal to have since you don’t want to look back in a haze, recalling only blurry details of your life, wondering Where was I? How’d I miss it?
But there’s a smidgen of a catch: How can you be here now when life repeatedly throws challenges that mirror the unresolved traumas of your past?
Zap, you’re pulled right back into how you felt the last time, and the time before, when that same thing happened. Your heart starts pounding, your jaw clenches and you're on autopilot, saying and doing the same things that didn’t work the previous (dozens of) times.
Then, you stand there shaking in your boots, frozen in fear, dazed and confused saying why me?
Take the Hint
Truth is, those recurring patterns are not only annoying, they’re also blatant hints that something is unhealed from your past.
Life keeps manifesting similar issues, throwing your suppressed, denied internal state in your face because your subconscious desperately wants peace and resolution.
But, true healing doesn’t come from running, hiding, denying or trying extra hard to just be here now.
So, here’s a not-so-subtle hint: You should probably heal that old stuff.
Can You Dig It?
Inner healing means getting out a shovel and digging down to the roots. Not just so you can wallow down memory lane, but to understand, resolve and release the past so that its pull is gone. Yes, gone.
Add to that the importance of spiritual awakening: Seeing the past through your wise, intuitive, Higher Consciousness perspective, why you’re here, BTW.
Like, what are the Big Lessons you’re supposed to learn from your past? How is the past directing you toward your True Life Purpose? What are you supposed to clean up, complete and forgive?
I hear you - that sounds like a lot of work. Especially when you’re trying your darndest just to be here now.
Look at it this way: An inner discovery journey is the most fascinating adventure you could ever possibly go on. It’s remarkable to find out what makes you tick, unearthing the subconscious influences shaping and directing you, dismantling those false programs running in the background of your life.
Beyond all that, what an amazing trip to get re-introduced to your spirit, to become intimate with who you really are and to live life from a place of empowered love.
The results from all that digging are magical shifts. Honestly, after decades of doing this work, I’m continuously amazed at the miraculous results. (Caught me, shameless plug!)
In other words: Would you rather wake up now so you can truly be here now? Or just keep sleepwalking through your life?
