The last three mornings I witnessed an incredible wonder of nature right on my front porch. Hearing bird chirp sounds I didn't recognize, silently I crept over to my living room window. There I observed two different bird varieties snacking on the seed buffet I left out for them.
Not only were they peacefully sharing this bounty, one would actually pick up seeds in his/her beak and lovingly pass them one-at-a-time to the other, who gobbled them up without flinching.
This ecosystem metaphor was obvious: These two diverse creatures were demonstrating how easy it is to, not only get along with a bird-of-a-different-color-feather friend, but to generously share the wealth without concern for lack.
Its simple message moved me to tears, leading me to ponder why us humans seem incapable of doing the same.
Especially lately.
How come?
This bird show reminded what I've been teaching for decades: Understanding and clearing the negative programming stored in the subconscious mind so you can access and live your spiritual nature, who you really are.
As I’ve explained in previous blogs, there's a part of your mind that perceives life from a fearful place. Its only job is to make sure to keep you safe by seeing everything and everyone as either pro or anti survival.
It determines how to do that based on what you decided back before there was input from your logical, rational mind. Prior to the age of three (as well as what's brought from previous lives) it formulates your personal “belief system.” You then live life from those subconscious determinations from then on.
Numbly unaware, you're sleep-walking, reacting blindly from these programs.
Deservingness lacks
Although this might sound counter intuitive, one of the deepest, most denied inner programmed beliefs is that "love is scary." It's core, universal, affecting you in ways you may not realize.
It’s easy to understand the common notion of being afraid to lose love, but fear of receiving love goes much deeper than that.
Why?
Receiving love (or use the words money, success, attention, recognition, validation, etc.) triggers suppressed beliefs held in your fear-based consciousness about not deserving.
So, when you receive more love, part of you freaks out and you subconsciously push it away, run, sabotage and in some way destroy it.
More love, more fear. All. The. Time.
See it, feel it
Once you wake up and notice your pattern of doing this, it gets pretty obvious. Really *duh* obvious.
Like shortly after that perfect romantic get-away, suddenly you’re in a silly fight with your partner. Or they take the trash out unexpectedly and, rather than thanking them, you complain about how they should’ve always been doing that.
The good news is, by recognizing the symptoms –- feeling upset shortly after more love is received -- you can quickly see your Love Brings Up Fear Syndrome, nip it in the bud and get back to the love.
It might be challenging at first since the notion of being afraid of love seems incongruous (as well as difficult to admit). However, once you witness how it works a few times, it's glaringly unmistakable.
Excuse me, gotta go back to watching those two birds demonstrate how easy it is to deserve and accept love.
Really, humans, it's easy!
